ATTORNEY-GENERAL Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the society we live in is an “open society” where everyone has equal rights.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum echoed these sentiments while officiating at the Kirtan competition in Narere, Nasinu last night.

“Our society is an open society, everyone has equal rights, so we should also contribute in the same way to our country,” he said.

He urged those present at the event to always look after the community they lived in.

“We should look after our communities. If someone is poor in our area, if there is someone who becomes widow or orphan, see how you can help them.”
