Accused fails to appear in court, production order issued

A 25-YEAR-OLD man who is charged for assaulting two police officers failed to appear in court this morning as he is in remand.

Police prosecutor Constable Setareki Mocevakaca made an application for a production order to be issued to the remand centre for Sekove Tawake’s next appearance.

Mr Tawake is charged with one count of resisting arrest and two counts of serious assault.

It is alleged that Mr Tawake assaulted two police constables in due course of their duty causing them injuries on August 20, 2018, in Nasinu.

The case has been adjourned to October 3, for mention.
