A MAN in his 20s, who was travelling to Waimicia, died last night following a motor vehicle accident.
Fiji Police in a statement confirmed that the man, who is from Nasavusavu Village in Ra, was travelling from Matawailevu towards Waimicia after 6pm when he allegedly lost control of the car causing it to veer off the road.
It further stated that the vehicle landed in a drain.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said a post mortem would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death as investigations continue.
The road death toll currently stands at 55 compared to 48 for the same period last year.
