TWO Vodafone Fiji national team players have been suspended for 40 days after being tested positive for drug use while in a national training camp.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said the players would be given another chance to come out clean.
“The players had been suspended and they would be re-tested on April 30. If they are tested positive again then a harsher suspension will be handed out to them. These players were tested negative in other tests before they are given another chance,” he said.
He says Fiji FA is doing all it can to make football a drug-free sport in the country.
“We are trying our best to make football drug-free and this is progressing well and players are getting tested at every level and in all competitions.”
