27 more Fijian join NZ RSE scheme

Update: 6:08PM TWENTY-seven workers will next week join the New Zealand government’s Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Scheme.
According to the employment ministry, the workers received their pre-departure certificates yesterday to work for Heywood Orchard Ltd, Agworks Ltd, and Apata Group Ltd.
“Fifteen returning workers have been recruited back, 10 by RSE employer Heywood Orchard and five by Apata Group Ltd,” the statement said.
“Twelve are newly recruited, seven by Agworks Ltd and five by Apata Group Ltd.”
A first timer worker, Saula Naivakacavu, 35, expressed his appreciation for both New Zealand employers and the Fijian Government for the opportunity.
“I am indeed grateful to be the first to be picked from village elders and to represent Nadoi Village from tikina Rewa is a blessing,” Mr Naivakacavu was quoted saying in the Government statement issued today.
“I also thank the Fijian Government and the employers for providing this employment opportunity. I have set up my goals and upon my return, I intend to achieve them.?
