5000 for HomesCare in Ba

MORE than 5000 people turned up at the Ba Carnival Grounds this morning for a chance to apply for the HOMES-CARE assistance from the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation.

According to the ministry, only specific areas in Ba were being assisted today.

These included those affected in Qerelevu, Veisaru, Tabalei, Sasa, Naboutini Settlement, Vunisamaloa, Beinai, Line 25, Namada, Nasivikoso, Namau, Malea Settlement, Matavelo, Lutunairi Settlement, Varadoli Back Road, Ikatoko, Nabula, Vusavusa, Koroboya Settlement, Koronubu, Naboutolu, Nasauvakarua and Navau.

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa said many of residents had started gathering at the park from last night.

She said they expected a large number of people to turn up in Ba over the next two days.
