Anaemia, worms prevalent

LOCAL data shows that in areas where anaemia rates are high, worm infestation is also evidently prevalent.

This was highlighted by National Iron and Multivitamins (NIMS) program officer Kiti Sorovaki while responding to questions from this newspaper yesterday.

Ms Sorovaki said there is a program in place to address the issue.

“The National Iron and supplementation program will see to children being dewormed in addition to receiving Vitamin A and iron supplements,” Ms Sorovaki said.
