UTILITY Zibraaz Sahib took Lautoka to the semi-final of the 2018 Vodafone Fiji FACT after he scored from the penalty spot against Tavua which ended in a 1-all draw at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori yesterday. Minnows Tavua needed a win in the match to qualify for the semi-finals and they were on track until the 86th minute when Tavua fouled Benjamin Totori. Sahib took a powerful spot kick to send Lautoka to the semi-final. Tavua played spoiling football against the Blues after taking a 1-0 lead in the first half through Mosim Khan in the 40th minute. Lautoka coach, Kamal Swamy who braved the heavy rain to guide his side from the sideline, said his team was lucky to be in the semi-final. “We got some senior players who guided the team which had youth players against the tough Tavua side. We were lucky to have qualified and it is simple as that. We made mistakes and Tavua managed to score the goal and then we were lucky to come away with a penalty which we scored and it helped us to qualify.
