2018 to be year of unity: Narube

Update: 1:19PM FIJIANS have been called to make 2018 the year of unity.

In his New Year’s message to the nation, Unity Fiji Party Leader Savenaca Narube said he believed what Fiji needed above all else was unity.

“We, especially our children, are carrying the heavy burden from the lack of unity,” Mr Narube said in a statement issued today.

“Over the years, we have heard calls for unity. But we all know that merely calling for unity is not enough.

“We that are calling for unity must ourselves do something credible to promote unity.”

The former Reserve Bank of Fiji governor urged everyone to do something, however, small to help bring Fijians together.

“Let 2018 be the year that this country comes together to chart a new future under a vision of unity that we own and share.”
