WORLD Rugby 7s commentator Sean Maloney believes the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team has what it takes to scoop its third Rugby World Cup Sevens win.

He said the inclusion of rugby superstars in Leone Nakarawa, Josua Tuisova, Semi Kunatani and Semi Radradra would create havoc for the oppositions.

Maloney said to drop Eroni Sau from the world cup team showed the calibre of players in the Fijian side.

“I don’t know where to start, when I look there is no Eroni Sau in the team, who was my favourite player this season,” he said.

“It’s great to see Nakarawa, Tuisova, Kunatani and Radradra — it’s ridiculous, it is ridiculous.

“I think 90 per cent — it will be hard to beat Fiji.

“Radradra was the most watched player while with the Parramatta Eels in the NRL but was out of the 7s game and you see what he did after he returned for 7s — it’s crazy.

Maloney, however, cautioned that the Fijian players could be their own enemies like what happened at the Paris 7s which cost the side the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series title.

“Everyone talked about how good they are with the ball in hands but I like more of their off-loading games.

“But you saw what happened in Paris where the guys made mistakes when we thought they wouldn’t make it — the 7s pressure is rising,” he said.

Fiji booked a semi final spot against New Zealand at 8.02am Fiji time tomorrow after beating Argentina 43-7 in the quarterfinal of the Rugby World Cup 7s in San Francisco.

New Zealand had a close encounter with France just managing to win 12-7 after copping three yellow cards during the match.

Meanwhile, in other feature matches yesterday, France upset Australia 22-7, New Zealand downed Russia 21-7, South Africa thumped Ireland 45-7 and USA hammered former champion Wales 35-0.
