All three western teams recorded wins on day one of the 2018 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

Lautoka will take on Labasa at 6pm today as the feature match for the day.

Yesterday, traditional giants Ba entertained fans as they showcased structured football to beat a classy Labasa side 2-nil.

First half goals to Manasa Nawakula and Saula Waqa were enough for the Men In Black to secure the maximum three points from the match.

For Lautoka, Samuela Drudru’s strike in the second spell sent the home fans into jubilation as Lautoka beat Tavua 1-nil in their opener yesterday.

Rusiate Matererega grabbed a brace in Nadi’s 4-nil drubbing of Dreketi, a match in which the northerners failed to shine.

Napolioni Qasevakatini and Ratu Josefata Dugucagi were the other goal scorers in the match.

Rewa made a flying start in the first match of the yesterday as a brace of goals from Sairusi Naulubu helped the side beat Suva 2-1.

For matches today, Dreketi battles Suva at 12pm, Ba battles Tavua at 2pm, while Rewa takes on Nadi at 4pm.
