A NATIONAL contemporary art gallery will be established in Suva.

In his 2018-2019 National Budget address, Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the funding would be provided by Government in partnership with the British Council.

He said this would give Fijian artists a modern and contemporary space where they could show their work and engage the artistic community.

He said $3million has been set aside for this project and the doors to the new gallery to be opened in 2020.
