2018/19 Budget: $382m for health sector

THE health sector has once again received a considerable chunk of the National Budget with a $382million allocation.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said $335million of this was directed towards the Health Ministry.

A total of $47.6m has been set aside for salaries of doctors and recruiting new medical personnel.

The sector was given $387.6m in last year’s Budget.
