THERE are many ways to address bread and butter issues, says Unity Fiji party leader Savenaca Narube. He believes political parties should be capable of bringing forth a legitimate strategy to help people meet their basic needs.

“Putting food on the table and finding the basic ingredients to survive is what people are looking for,” he said.

“This is what every party knows but what would make the difference is how a party develops the strategies needed to help people put food on their table. “Our party believes on focusing on bread and butter issues. “What I am saying is we have managed our economy and our finances in the past. “We would know what to do to address those issues because there are many ways to address issues people are facing.”

He said employment would be one of the most important strategies to help people improve their standard of living.

“Micro-businesses and using your own resources to produce goods and services is also very important and is another form of ensuring that our people are able to take care of themselves.”

Mr Narube added that a detailed manifesto would be released once a date for the 2018 polls was confirmed.
