LOCAL business women will have an opportunity to learn from the 2017 Commonwealth Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Valrie Grant, the head of an innovative technology company based out of Kingston, Jamaica.
The Women Entrepreneurs & Women in Business meet and greet event initiated by the Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation (PIPSO) and The Hot Bread Kitchen Group is aimed at the empowerment of youth and women entrepreneurs.
Acting chief executive officer PIPSO Alisi Tuqa said opportunities to hear from successful Women Entrepreneurs from around the world should not be missed.
“PIPSO recognises the achievements of Ms Grant and we appreciate her willingness to speak to our local businesswomen. Sometimes women fail to recognise their own potential and it may take another women’s story to truly inspire and motivate them to take that business leap” she said.
Ms Grant was awarded the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Young Business Executive Award (2016).
Most recently Ms Grant was also awarded the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Young Business Executive Award (2016). She is a finalist in the Business Excellence Forum CEO of the Year Award and has received several awards from the University of Technology Jamaica including The Award for Excellence in the Field of Entrepreneurship 2015, World Class Women Entrepreneur Award 2017 and the Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Celebration of Excellence 2017.
